New in thee shop: Upcycled Denim and Leather Patchwork Bags

These two bags were made with remnants of denim and leather. The tote bag has a magnetic snap to keep it closed and the crossbody bag is zippered with dual zipper pulls. Both have pockets inside and out.

The tote patchwork is an abstract piece while the crossbody is a Seminole inspired patchwork. I had accumulated a lot of smaller pieces of denim and other materials so making these patchworks has been a great way to use them all up. Also quite the creative exercise with the tinier pieces like making a puzzle but without instructions.

You can find the bags in my shop.

New in Thee Shop: Upcycled Denim and Faux Leather Patchwork Tote Bags

These two lovelies are spacious tote bags made with all upcycled materials, of course. Both have magnetic snaps to keep them shut and pockets inside and out. One bag, the one with the tan belt straps has a slightly longer strap drop than the other.

I have been trying to save patterns of the patchworks I make so that I am able to at least reference the size next time. So for this one I did do that. I'm glad I did because I do very much like the result and I was able to easily make another.

I used denim from four different jeans, two blue and two gray. The faux leather is two different kinds as well, one from a jacket and the other a skirt.

Here it is lying flat and finished. I did end up switching some around and I didn't cut out enough to make it the entire width across so I just filled this one in with other pieces of denim. The back is whole different story with bigger pieces patch-worked together and two pockets set on top.

New in Thee Shop: Upcycled Denim Canteen Style Circle Crossbody Bags

I've got four new upcycled denim canteen bags listed up in the shop. They all around 9" in diameter. I think that's a pretty good for a crossbody circle bag.

I had posted this work in progress photo to my instagram a while ago, took a break from them and finally finished the group. I always try to match up the zipper colors to compliment the threads of the denim hems.

The backs of the bags can get tricky when I want to make them a whole pocket and sometimes it's just not doable with the piece at hand. So two of them are double pockets, the other two are single pocket.

Just can't beat that classic look of thick thread on denim. Check them out individually in the shop for more details.

New In Thee Shop: Painted & Upcycled Denim Crossbody Bags

I had accumulated a couple pairs of white denim jeans and I don't particularly like using white denim for full on bags. I imagine white surfaces on bags getting dirty quite easily. So instead I've made use of them by using them as canvas for unique and colorful embellishment.

Per usual I've tried to mix in different elements, material-wise and create textural interest you can both see and feel. I love the thick thread used on jeans and try to incorporate them wherever I can.

For this bag I sealed the edges of the flap with a cotton twill tape that came tied around something I bought. I can't remember what it was but I'm glad I hung onto to it and re-purposed it. I also re-used a faux leather boot strap to keep the flap in place rather than a magnetic snap.

For two of these bags I upcycled a pair of belts I found at the thrift store. They make excellent adjustable purse straps (the hardware comes right included!).

When jeans are low rise they will have these itty bitty zippers but they're still in excellent working condition, why not use them? It doesn't matter what size they are, all pockets are good pockets.

Thanks for reading 😊 Check out all the bags in thee shop ðŸ‘–+🎨=♻💼✨
