There are so many shades of denim, it's continuously inspiring. I particularly like the denim with thick orange/yellow stitching and fraying bits like these:
For the undersides or depths of the bags I like to patch them up with coordinating denim or other materials.
The backs of the bags end up being all different too. I try to make sure there's at least one functioning pocket.
I also try to give each zipper a longer zipper pull to make it easier since it is a curve. I usually reuse necklace chains and charms.
